August Game Day West 08/02/25 Solomon Islands 1942

Eddie Mosely presented a game taking the players back to the Second World War in the steamy jungles of the Pacific Theater using Flames of War Rules. Pitting the Imperial Japanese Army vs the pride of the US Marine Corps there was bound to be some hot battle action one the table top. Let’s hear from Eddie for an analysis of the game.

The Marines were tasked with liberating a Japanese held village.

After the marines deployed the Japanese got to deploy but the Marines didn’t know the Japanese deployment areas.

The marines decided to sent the whole force towards the bridge closest to the village at full speed.Throwing off the Japanese.

But the Japanese found an open spot on the field to duke it out with a tank fight. The Shermans would win out though.

The Marines continued on their plan of pushing to the village. Eventually engaged some Japanese infantry in a firefight and then a hand to hand combat.

The fighting was costly on both sides however the Marines had won and continued to the bridge.

Both sides fighting it out across the river. In a last effort to end the battle.

As the Marines moved to the objective the Japanese were throwing everything they had to prevent the marines from succeeding.

The Japanese fought to the last man. But the marines won the game with very heavy losses.

Thanks Eddie for putting on the game and the great play by play followup. Thanks to all the players and our Thanks to Miniature Market Rock Hill for their continued support.
