It was time for a run through prep game for this Hail Caesar game rules scenario as a refresher for the GM and a chance to run the kinks out of the troops. Using flat top down units in place of the normal miniatures and shifting from imperial to metric measurements allowed for big game in a small footprint and lots less stuff to carry.

Team Saxon (Mark J and Steve L) took on the Vikings (Steve T and Mark W) as the home team (Saxons) looked to deal with the pesky invaders to their quiet and peaceful countryside.

Both armies were broken down into two roughly equal divisions with a mixed bag of troops in each.

The major terrain feature was Kingstanding Hill where the Saxon vanguard formed up to be greeted by a Viking division under Steve T attempting to remove them from the high ground.

The Saxons did come off the hill, but it in hot pursuit of their Viking tormentors.

On the Saxon Left we find Steve L getting into the battle after a slow start failing his command rolls.

The game ended with a likely Saxon victory (which is historically accurate) but not before many challenges for both sides.
Thanks to all the players for helping with the run through of this game to be played at our October Game Day West and a huge Thank You to Miniature Market Cave Springs for their continued support.
