We were pleased to once again visit St. Charles Community College in support of the US History 102 and Western Civilization students On Wednesday March 11, 2026 we presented three different large board games themed to their classes.

The students who participate not only have an opportunity at an extra credit opportunity, to enjoy a great mid-term break pizza and soft drinks courtesy of their teacher, Mark Williams but to look at History through the lens of historical table top gaming.

An enhanced version of “One Hour WWII” by Worthington Games served the US History 102 feature and was enjoyed by the students who had the great fortune to have their instructor Mark Willams as their Game Master.

The Western Civ students were presented with a beautifully created 3D version of “878 Vikings Invasions of England” by Academy Games constructed by Pat Lewis who was kind enough to serve as the Game Master for the evening giving the students a view of the incursion by the Danes onto the island.

With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner “Brian Boru High King of Ireland” by Osprey games was selected to help the Western Civilization class as they learned about political rivalries in Ireland about the year 1000. The enlarged version of the board with improved components served nicely and was well received. The students also appreciated the extra historical reference sheet we provided with links to help them create their report for their class.
Thanks to our Game Masters and all the Students who participated in this mid term historical gaming event. A special Thanks to Mark Williams for the invitation to present these games and to St. Charles Community College.
