Pat L (The Americans) and Steve T (The Chippewas) took up the challenge of helping to run through and critique Cahokia Farmstead using Fistful of Lead Horse & Musket Rules. We were trying some modifications suggested last week during a previous critique session and found we still have a way to go, but progress has been made.
Above we see the mixed group of defenders at the wall, while the Chippewa arrive in force. We ran out of reload markers and were forced to use the “creep” markers as a proxy. Rocks were used to mark figures that had moved in order to avoid confusion.
In this session we adjusted the attacking Chippewas reducing their muskets to obsolete types with reduced range and had all of their ground use the rabble rule in FFoL to reflect the brittle nature of the Native Americans who were told by their British allies that “Hey, this will be a walkover as they are not at all prepared.”
There is still some discussion regarding the two unarmed civilians out in the field as to whether they will have weapons available to them at the farm. Also suggest was the use of the data card for the miniatures and we will try that soon as well. It appears that the defenders will need to be divided into groups and marked as such.
An informative session as we prepare this scenario for the upcoming presentation at the St. Charles County Heritage Museum on Saturday October 19, 2024 10am to 4pm.
Thanks to Pat & Steve for playing and their insights into areas needing improvement. Thanks also to Miniature Market Cave Springs for their continues support.
