Tom Vielott, Dave Schaffner & Les Hostetler represented Big Muddy at Archon 47 Fantasy & Science Fiction Convention contributing half of the conventions table top miniature gaming in 2024.
Early in the convention on Friday afternoon saw Tom’s Overdrive in action with giant Mechs charging across the battlefield.

Elsewhere on the Friday Menu of offerings was Godzilla Island celebrating the 70th anniversary of one of our favorite creatures arriving on the scene.

We started small, but as players arrived they took to the air in some favorite steads to try to tranquilize the great green creature (or take a few well timed shots at one another) in this variation of Ares Games Tripods and Triplanes version of Wings of Glory WWI.

In the end Godzilla was sedated and headed off for study at a European scientific institute but not before giving the players a few rounds of his tail swats and atomic breath.
Saturday things picked up with Dave Schaffer’s exquisitely presented BattleMaster gaining attention from both players and onlookers.

The play was intense and the momentum swung back and forth in this close run game, which was a big hit with the players.

Also on Saturday was a trip to the sleepy hamlet of St. Francois, France in the early 1600’s as there was swashbuckling to be done as players tried their best to out maneuver each other in And All For One!

Cardinal Richelieu had issued arrest warrants for Constance sure that she was passing information from the Queen to Lord Buckingham and the Red Guard was on the way. It was up to The King’s Musketeers to thwart their plans and rescue the fair young lady from an unpleasant fate.

The battle is on as D’Artangnan duels with Rochefort with the other Musketeers in the background.

In the three games played, Constance was arrested twice and rescued once. All the players seemed to have a good time.
Another offering was a multi genre game designed to allow players of flow in and out of the system as their time allowed by Les Hostetler and Tom Vielott.

The table was just a little bit of everything as we saw Orcs, Goblins, Cowboys, NKVD troops and more.

Players and onlookers agreed that it was just plain fun to enjoy or observe.
