Semi Regular Retirees Game 05/22/25 Panzer Leader 3D

It was a blast from the past with a serious upgrade as Pat Lewis brought out his 3D version of the 1974 Avalon Hill board-game Panzer Leader for us to enjoy on Thursday at Miniature Market Rock Hill.

The scenario involving the British landings at Gold Beach on June 6, 1944 saw team German (Mark J and Steve T) vs Team British (Dave B and Andrew B).

Ravi, who had previously played the scenario stopped by for a few minutes to offer his thoughts to the players.

A German blockhouse with some serious (40) defense factors. A tough nut for the British to crack.

The first wave of British coming ashore with a long way to go to get established on the beach before moving inland.

British Infantry.

With the help of a large amount of naval fire support the landings have secured the beach town, but there are more defenders on the tops of the escarpments. Red markers indicate units that are disordered. We also see the first of the tanks arriving.

Adding to the Fog of War, the Germans were deployed on a map with units markers in the box to the far left.

British Engineers occupy a village near a woodline while a Sherman Firefly engages a target. The yellow marker indicating that the unit has fired.

In the end despite a spirited defense on the part of the German forces, that inflicted heavy losses on the invaders the day went to the British who were able to secure their necessary objectives.

Thanks to Pat for presenting a great looking table and challenging scenario. Thanks to the Players (Andrew, Mark, Steve and Dave) for their thoughtful play and of course Thanks to Miniature Market Rock Hill for their continued support.
