October Game Day East 10/19/25 Cortez vs The Aztecs

Game Day East was a bang up event at the spacious game room of Impact Gaming Center in Fairview Heights, IL as Steve Lowry using a modified Fistful of Lead Bigger Battles system put on another of his 54mm spectaculars taking us to the the steamy climate of Central America as Cortez was looking to expand his real estate holdings at the expense of the Aztec tribe.

The game got off to a good start for the Spanish players (Les H & Kevin F) with a good initiative roll and a chance to get in some artillery shots before the Aztecs (Ray R and Craig S) had a chance to do much about it.

In order to fill the ranks, Steve proxied the necessary figs from his other collections, but these troops fought bravely just the same.

The Spanish move forward as the Aztecs wait for them to come into range.

Craig pulled a fast one as only Craig can and flummoxed the Spanish plans to capture the Aztec Idol on top of the pyramid, by telling a few of “da boys” to grab it and make tracks.

Things are not going too well for the Spanish as the Aztec archery was much more accurate than had been hoped for.

Overall a game that ended up as a judge declared draw (but most likely an Aztec victory), but really a win for all the players as we had a great time pounding away at each other this October afternoon. Thanks to Steve for a fun filled game that all the players enjoyed. We also extend a Thank You to Impact Game Center in Fairview Heights for their continued support.
