“American Jutland 1-14-2026 at Fantasy Games and Books – The picture is the conclusion of the “General Quarters WWI 1916″ game we fought last night. The Germans had slightly better armor ( 8 ships with BA armor vs American 4 ships with BA armor) than the Americans but the Americans had a gun advantage (6 ships with 14″ guns vs all 12″ guns for the Germans). The Germans were able to negate the American gun advantage by closing the range so the game was a real slugfest. The Americans lost 22 turrets and 29 hull boxes. The Germans lost 26 turrets and 29 hull boxes.”
“The damage appears very close but the Americans were winning until the second to last turn when the USS Oklahoma exploded from a turret magazine hit and the last turn when the USS Wyoming exploded also from a turret magazine hit. The two exploded ships are included in the losses above. We have to consider it a German victory because of the loss of these two ships. To explode, first you have to roll a 12 on a 12-die to get a critical hit, then you roll a 5-8 on a 12-die to get a magazine hit and then you roll a 11-12 on a 12-die to fail to flood the magazine in time. The odds are 1 out of 216 to get the result.”
