Wednesday Night Gaming 08/14/24 Space 1799

Dave Murvihill escorted the Wednesday Night group back in time to another age in the world of science fiction running his Space 1799 scenario on Wednesday evening at Fantasy Books & Games in O’Fallon, IL. So let’s hear from Dave’s description……..

“Exciting game last night. We had six players, two with mining barges and four privateers.”

The Saxons lucked out, because the asteroid was passing on their side of Earth. The Saxon mining barge simply sailed into the path of the asteroid and let it collect him.

All four privateers decided not to defend their own barge and attack the enemy’s instead. The barges ended up being punching bags for the rest of the game.

One privateer got a nice stern rake into another as they passed, and another privateer spent four turns in irons, rolling a 2 on a d6 each time.

“The Portuguese mining barge started by trying to dodge the oncoming privateers, but this pushed him so far away from the asteroid it passed by before he could catch it. It was only a matter of a couple inches though. The magnetic vectors were such that he was unable to catch up after that.”

“Anyway, fun game, even though no one lost their ship. Once players get used to the movement system and get closer more damage will accrue quite quickly.”

Thanks to Dave for running the game and this great AAR! We also want to thank all the players who joined in this game and the fine staff at Fantasy Books and Games for their support.
