Big Muddy Historical Gaming Alliance – St. Louis June 16th Tuesday Night Gaming – Taifa and Bolt Action

Tuesday Night was busy with three games in the mix. “Taifa” enlarged and enhanced along with two “Bolt Action” games in the comfortable surroundings of the gaming area at Game Nite.

The “Taifa” run through was another familiarization game to go through the rules, learn the nuances of the cards which drive the play and enjoy the enhanced experience of our enlarged format.

Tim, Patrick, Mark J, Andrew, Keith and Kevin all took up the roles of various Christian or Muslim leaders vying for control of 11th Century Spain.

The players are free to operate independently and need not stick to their religious factions, but this game seemed to keep everyone pretty much operating on the North vs South axis.

With Andrew, Keith and Mark all operating in concert the folks to the south side of the map faired poorly between a combination of bad card draws, lack of coordination and dice that just fell short when needed.

Andrew playing Red took the game in turn 3 getting his last control marker down on the board, just before Mark was about to do the same. In the end all agreed that it was a fun, fast playing game that will work very well for our group in the future and as part of our “History Through a Different Lens” Initiative.

Both of the “Bolt Action” tables featured some great looking terrain and fast action for the four players. Judging by the comments everyone was having a good time with some great tactics and dice rolling going on.

A Thank You to all the players for taking time to join in and continued appreciation to Game Nite for their support.
