Table One

The Battle of Fort Rivière, Haiti, 1915
GM: Kevin Fitzpatrick

Experience a historical skirmish from the American intervention in Haiti during November 1915. U.S. Marines take on Caco forces in an action from the Banana Wars, offering players a chance to explore a lesser-known but important episode in American military history.

This game will also help prepare a scenario for the BMHGA Education Working Group, which brings historical gaming into school classrooms to help students see History Through a Different Lens.

Table Two

Cash & Guns
GM: DJ Carter

A fast-playing game of mob “negotiations” as the gang divides up the loot. Expect bluffing, laughter, tense choices, and plenty of opportunities to discover who your friends really are when the money is on the table!

Game Day West

Saturday, September 5 | 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
Miniature Market – Rock Hill
9755 Manchester Rd, St. Louis, MO 63119

Game Day West features three historical games spanning the American Civil War and the American Revolution. Visitors and prospective players are encouraged to stop by, watch the action, ask questions, and take part. These games are part of a public educational historical-gaming demonstration exploring leadership, terrain, strategy, and command decisions through miniatures, maps, terrain, and historical research.

Table One

Gettysburg Morning
GM: Dave Schaffner

The battle opens as Heth’s Confederate Division deploys along the Chambersburg Pike after driving Union cavalry beyond the ridge ahead. The fight for Herbst Woods and McPherson’s Ridge is about to begin.

Hosted by Dave Schaffner, this four-player game uses Warlord’s Epic 13.5mm miniatures on a newly custom-made battlefield mat featuring the important fences and terrain of this iconic section of Gettysburg.

Table Two

Pub Battles: Gettysburg
GM: Tom Vielott

Lead an army through a key Civil War battle in the musket era—but do not expect perfect information or total control. Like real commanders, players may not know exactly what the enemy has, where an attack will come from, when troops will move, or even when their own formations will respond.

Come help evaluate this game for the Education Working Group and its mission of bringing historical gaming into classrooms.

Table Three

Skirmish at Little Ferry
Muskets & Tomahawks
25mm Miniatures
GM: John Nozka

After the British capture Fort Lee on the morning of November 20, 1776, General Washington leads the Continental forces south in retreat. On November 21, British forces move to secure the ferry crossing over the Hackensack River in hopes of cutting off the Continental Army’s escape.

The Continental players must get their troops across the river—and disable the ferry before the British can use it against them. Can the Americans escape, or will the British close the trap?
