Semi Regular Retirees Game 04/10/25 “Fistful of Lead”, The Downed RAF Pilot.

It’s downtown WWII and a RAF Pilot has been shot down somewhere over France. It’s now a foot race to get to on there and either capture or rescue the hapless aviator in this Fistful of Lead game scenario.

The Pilot started in the middle of of the board and will move randomly (but away from any known Germans) with the players (Steve T and Dave B French), (Steve L, Mark J and Pat L German) all looking to bring the flyer into their custody. Players could start on any map edge of their choosing and anywhere along the map edge.

We see the pilot in the upper right of the photo hoping that he will be rescued.

Things got busy quickly as Steve T (French) and Steve L (German) got into action upon their arrival on the board from the GM’s right. There were initially and throughout the game several exchanges of “pleasantries” between the parties.

On the other side of the table Dave B (French) and Pat L (German) took a bit longer to get into action but when things started they heated up very quickly.

More of the carnage between Steve L and Steve T as both lost their leader figures early on.

A shot from above the farm house where Steve T’s French broke in looking for some cover, only to be greeted by Mark’s German element leading to an unhappy result.

Mark moving his troops toward the down pilot who was hiding in a clump of trees near the farmhouse.

Mark’s three man section overpowered the unlucky pilot, taking him into custody although doing so in an unconscious state.

As Mark’s trooper dragged the pilot into POW status the French sent to rescue him had all succumbed to the superior German forces after a hard fought victory costing them numerous troopers and at least one section leader. Command was really hoping that they didn’t get anymore “gifts from the sky” that required searching them out until their ranks can be replenished.

Overall a good initial run through for this scenario that is on the PEL for Barracks Battles @ DieCon 2025 June 6-8 at the Gateway Center in Collinsviille, IL

Thanks to all the players for joining in and their many suggestions for sprucing up the scenario (Yes, Steve L I will add a few chickens to the mix). Thanks as always to Miniature Market Rock Hill and their fine staff for their continued support.
