Semi Regular Retirees Game 08/28/25 Battle of The Chippewa

The group gathered at Miniature Market Rock Hill to do a pe September Game Day West run through of Mark Johnson’s Battle of the Chippewa Game using his amalgamated home rules and the action was intense.

The British (Steve T, Steve L and Mark W) took on the Americans (Dave B and Kevin F) with both sides having somewhat conflicting objectives.

The area was heavily wooded with an old overgrown logging road cutting through the terrain.

One of the Native American Units allied with the American side.

A look at the overall table.

It was learned that the Native American Units do not necessarily stand up well to the hardened British Units performing volley fire.

Both sides pressed hard on their prospective left and forced the opposition back.

A melee about mid table as Native Americans from both sides traded blows. Were they settling some old scores? The cards provided the unit stats as served to signify which units had moved. White rings were wounded and pink ones were those dispatched. The D10 was to record loses for the current turn which would affect morale rolls at turn end.

Volleys being exchanged. Bringing a leader up to a unit would allow it to help with morale, get an extra volley or increase a unit’s movement.

The American right almost completely destroyed, we see British units starting to wheel towards the center.

Sure! I can Hold’em off singlehanded, not a problem at all……..

Overall a superb afternoon of gaming and one that gave a nice run of this scenario. Lots of fun! Thanks to Mark Johnson for presenting this game, Thanks to the players and of course our Thanks to the fine staff at Miniature Market Rock Hill for their continued support.
