February Game Day West / Command Con Lite**
Location: Miniature Market – Rock Hill
Our February Game Day West / Command Con Lite, held at Miniature Market Rock Hill, was a well-attended success that opened with a crowded first session. A wide variety of engaging games and tables were on offer, making the choice of where to play a difficult—and enjoyable—decision for those who came out.

We’ll let the pictures tell much of the story: a gathering of game masters, players, and interested onlookers all enjoying the games, the superbly painted miniatures, and the well-crafted terrain that has become a hallmark of the tables at Big Muddy Historical Gaming Alliance events.

We were especially fortunate to welcome Jim Long, U.S. representative from Ares Games, who joined us to demo their Mega Empires game system. This proved to be very popular, with many players taking advantage of the opportunity to sit down and play directly with the manufacturer’s representative.

Dave Schaffner presented Winterloo!, using his converted cocktail-skewer nutcracker figures in a horse-and-musket era game of One Hour Wargames by Neil Thomas. Infantry, artillery, cavalry, and skirmishers maneuvered across the table in two games as the Red and Blue Armies clashed in spirited, pitched combat.

Tim Lalk and his beautifully painted armies took center stage with a 15mm ancients game set in the Age of Hannibal, once again demonstrating the enduring popularity of this period among players.

Adding a change of pace, Patrick Connaughton ran a World War II coastal action using our modified Cruel Seas rules. Featuring a striking sea mat and expertly painted miniatures, the game delivered fast-paced action as players attempted either to supply the French Resistance or disrupt those efforts with small-boat engagements.

A Special and Unexpected Treat
A special and unexpected treat for attendees was the free beverages provided by 7 Brew Coffee, courtesy of their soon-to-open location at 10005 Manchester Road, Warson Woods, Missouri.
Vanilla Blondies and Hazelnut Iced Coffees were gladly accepted and helped make a great day of gaming even better. Be sure to give them a try when they officially open on Monday, February 23rd.

Overall, February’s Game Day West / Command Con Lite showcased the strength of our community, the creativity of our game masters, and the high standard of games that continue to define Big Muddy Historical Gaming Alliance events.

Stay tuned for the results of our Bolt Action Tournament and photos from session two of this wonderful Game Day West/Command Con Lite.
Thanks to all the GMs, players and our hosts Miniature Market Rock Hill for their continued support
