We were pleased to be joined by Tom from Sioux City, IA this Tuesday Night as the group gathered at Game Nite to get in some game action across two historical eras. On table now was Pat Lewis presenting the Napoleonic era Battle of Ligny using his enlarged and enhanced 3D versions of GMT’s “Command and Colors” game system. Andrew was there do a bit of commanding, a bit of coaching and was kind enough to send in this report…

So we will turn this over to Andrew …

“Command and Colors Napoleonics featured the battle of Ligny! “

“ Set on 6/16/1815, our battle saw a fairly bloody conflict between French and Prussian forces, with the French decimating the Prussian left.”

“ The French gained a close victory, beating the Prussians by two flags(destroyed units), with the Prussian center retaining the majority of victory hexes!”

“ A good game, big thanks to Pat for putting it on, and Ravi, Kurt, Tom, Nate, and Calvin for playing!”

On table two we rolled out the mat and kicked the tires of the expanded and upgraded version of “Chariot Race” by Pegasus Games. This was not so much a serious game, but a chance to go over the rules and gain a clearer understanding of how the various dice roll mechanisms work and come to conclusions on rule interpretations. Tim L in the green chariot took the lead early on followed by Mark J sporting his red chariot colors. In third place was the purple rig driven (very poorly we might add) by Kevin F.

The 3D printed chariots by DeeJ looked great as did the Spina that he also created for our larger game. The new mid field structure provided a convenient spot to store extra caltrops giving the players easy access. Although players found out that there were plenty of them tossed on the track by their competitors.

Thanks to Pat for running Ligny and Andrew for his game report. A Thank You to all the players who came out and our ongoing appreciation to Game Nite for their continued support.
