Pat Lewis presented a superbly crafted game of the Napoleonic Battle of Aspern – Essling for our Thursday gathering at Miniature Market – Cave Springs.
The Austrians Pat L (right), Mark J (center) and Steve T (left) faced off against the French under Mark W (left), Steve L (center) and Kevin F (right) with an outnumbered force trying to hold onto the towns under assault.
Austrians on the right preparing to launch their assault on the village.
The French defenders.
Pat explaining on of the tables to the group.
The French Light troops working to dislodge the Austrians that had taken parts of the town on the French Right.
The French Cavalry in the Center attack Austrian infantry with the help of artillery .
Overall a superb day of gaming with lots of laughs. The game ended with a slight edge to the French but not without some heavy losses incurred.
Thanks to Pat for this great afternoon of gaming and to the folks at Miniature Market Cave Springs for their continued support.
Now that’s a battle!
Hope we’ll see more C&C-inspired games in the future too.
It was a good solid fight that was pretty much a draw. Steve T gave me a real tough time on our side of the board.
Kev,
Steve can be that Rascal ……for players, and sometimes for the GM too. :)))
