Steve Lowry broke out his modified Action Under Sail game rules along with his fleet of scratch built ships to present the Battle of the Chesapeake for our Semi Regular Retirees Game on 09/17/25.

Mark W and Mark J took on the roles of the French Fleet Commanders while Steve L and Kevin F raised the Union Jack on their fleet.

Above we see the British Line up close with the French in the background.

Steve had worked hard to get us a nice batch of range sticks for the game. All the players found them very helpful in judging the ranges.

Mark W writes orders as the fleets close.

Having grown tired of take the short end of the dice rolls. HMS Resolution leads the fleet to cut the French line, tossing raking fire in two directions

The French move to close but find the tactic a bit more difficult moving against the wind. The British Line opens fire upon the available targets.

The battle degenerated into a bit of a fur ball with command control by the flag ships getting lost in translation and the smoke of the cannon fire. With the day growing late, it was decided to call the game, but not before some serious shots were traded.
Thanks to Steve for an interesting game scenario. Thanks to all the players and those who stopped by to watch and of course Thanks to the fine crew at Miniature Market Cave Springs for their continued support.
