Our August Game Day West featured some superb games for the crowd that assembled at Miniature Market Rock Hill this first Saturday of the month. Across several historical (and a bit less historical) eras we saw games in a variety of scales and styles.
One of our three featured games was a Warmaster scenario mixing the pike & shotte era with a touch of magical powers presented by Patrick Connaugthon in 10mm as four players vied for control of the money wagon.
The scenario as advertised was WarMaster Ambush! A prize column marching towards friendly territory is ambushed by greedy mercs. Who will win? An intro to Warmaster game for 4 to 6 players. Classic 10mm combat using Warmaster Revolution rules and it lived up to it’s name of WarMaster….
Patrick was kind enough to not only run the game but to send in a bit of a report for us all to enjoy so we will let him offer you the details…..
“Today, the money got away!. In a demo game of Warmaster (10mm fantastic combat), a column of Empire troops along with an Imperial wizard were escorting a critical payroll shipment to rendezvous with another Empire force.”
“Ambushed as they neared a town by two hungry mercenary Dogs of War bands, Blues and the Reds. The escort column deployed to protect the payroll wagon,until their Empire comrade’s could arrive.”
“After several turn of tough combat with multiple charges and counter-charges, the Blue did enough damage to seize part of the payroll.”
“As the rendezvous force began to deploy the Red Dogs of War band broke the escorting Empire force, killed the wizard, and the two merc companies made off with the gold.”
“A good intro to the game rules, and fun was had by all! We’ll do it again sometime soon.” “Thank You”
