We all love seeing some of the great figs and terrain offered up by our fellow members from time to time, but occasionally a work in progress is not something on the painting table but something on the computer screen and such is the case here.
Patrick Connaughton has been working hard to get ready for a game at GenCon and was kind enough to send along a draft of a sample ship card for his upcoming Limeys & Slimeys age of sail game.

Above is a look at a QRS and players guide for the game. L&S is a game designed for quick learning and fast play at conventions back in the 1980s and as such lacks a few things to which we have grown accustomed to through the years such as a players guide reference sheet. This page created by Patrick really gives the player just about everything they need to know about moving and fighting their vessels and does so in a very efficient manner.

Here we have a look at a ship’s individual card. This Eight Gunner also has a couple of swivels to share pleasantries with their opponents. The speed indicators around the diagram are for each of the two legs that the ship can make in a turn. Crew loss track indicates “C” crew, “O” officers and “M” marines. The Hull boxes below the crew track indicate just how much damage the ship will take before striking its colors and eventually slipping beneath the waves.
Patrick indicates he is working on more ship cards for the game and we hope that he will be sharing them with us. Limeys and Slimeys is a free download on the internet and can be found easily. If you would like a Pdf of the rules simply email info@bmhga.com and we will get on off to you.
