Kurt Linke brought out the 6mm troops today for a meeting engagement between the Bavarians/Austrians and the French at Miniature Market Cave Springs.
Pat L, Sam & Greg D took on the command of the Allied forces while Steve T, Mark W and Steve L commanded the French.
The game was fought with sides entering on the narrow edge of the 6×4 game mat and that offered some considerable challenges to get units deployed into either Mass or Line formations.
A unit in column, great for movement, not so good for any type of combat.
Forces deployed and exchanging fire with the French to the left.
French Artillery limbered for movement.
The French unsuccessfully charged the Austrian line and were repulsed.
All in all a great game system, but with many nuances to master and this day the French did not come up on top losing several units.
