It was WWII Eastern Front Action at Miniature Market Cave Springs on Saturday January 18th as players gathered for some small size/big unit combat across the fields of the Soviet Union. Presented by Dave Schaffner we will let him provide you with the description of the day’s events……

“We gathered over a slice of little Russia on Saturday, Jan. 18th (little as in 1/600th scale), to fight a battalion-level WWII game that was based on a wartime Soviet tactics article – the Attack on Hill 221.3.”

“The report presented itself as a perfect game template, for pitting a miniature reinforce Soviet Tank Brigade vs. a reinforce German Infantry Battalion, with supporting arms available on each side. We had played the exact scenario before, and maybe it’s a good result when a scenario can generate a completely different outcome on its 2nd play-through (at least I think that’s a good indication of an action being fairly competitive).“

“I’ll be campaigning this scenario again, and others like in the year to come. Thanks to all the guys for coming out and engaging their tank drives, but most importantly their tactical minds at the same time, but now without further delay – some pics from the day’s fighting -”

Thanks Dave for presenting this interesting historical scenario for all to enjoy on a cold January day. Thanks also to the fine staff at Miniature Market – Cave Springs for their continued support.
