World War I Theme Week continued with our Semi Regular Retirees Game Day on Thursday at Miniature Market Rock Hill.
Leading off Mark Williams presented Escape of the Goeben featuring the German WWI Battlecruiser making its way across the Mediterranean Sea attempting to elude the Royal Navy who were in hot pursuit.

This scenario pitted some British Amoured Cruisers and Destroyers vs the German BattleCruiser.

The Goeben and its escort wasted no time in following their mission to escape from their dogged pursuers, brushing off the smaller caliber British guns and the attempts at torpedo attacks.

In the end the BattleCruiser escaped minus several guns that had been damaged in the exchange, but the victory went to the Germans.

Our second table saw the players take to the air in a game of Wings of Glory, as we introduced new players to the game system.

With no particular scenario in mind, it was just a meeting engagement over some unknown spot in between the trenches as pilots learned the attributes of their aircraft and how to handle them.

Our first game was a Halberstadt vs a Nieuport 28.

Later with more pilots arriving we got a few more planes in the air.

Up Close and Personal at the end of our second game.
Thanks to all the folks that came out for a great day of gaming on this Thursday afternoon and our Thanks to Miniature Market Rock Hill for their continued support.
