***The Cahokia Project***

Our group is excited to now involved in this new project based firmly upon history in our own backyard. A working group of our community coordinated by Pat Lewis is in the process of building a jumbo 3D version of the board game “Attack on Cahokia” by The Historical Game Company.  It is planned to use this and several complimentary miniature games as part of an event at the St. Charles Heritage Museum in November of this year to take our hobby to a public setting as an educational outreach effort. Later these games are hoped to be used not only at our own game days but in other suitable venues for the purposes of bringing our local history through miniatures gaming to the general public.

**The Display Box Project**

We know that there is nothing that draws the eye like superbly painted miniatures and our gaming community produces some of the best painted miniatures anywhere in the world! It is our plan to fill a portable display box that can be carried to our many events to not only show off the work of our members, but also to serve as a conversation starter with those visiting our games. To this end we are asking that YOU consider contributing one of your best painted miniatures to this effort. We will add labels describing the figure & note your contribution.

This will be coupled with a electronic photo frame showing pics of our many games from these last years to help draw potentially interested parties, helping to explain and expand our gaming community.

**Fraud Alert**

We learned recently that a member of our gaming community fell victim to the “Grandparents Bail Scam” and while we will not identify the individual involved it serves as a serious warning to all of us to be vigilant in our daily lives. It is important to be situationally aware in our travels and in the comfort of our own home. With many in our community being parents and grandparents we are likely targets of this increasingly sophisticated scam method. Developing protocols in your family to protect yourself and loved ones is a means of thwarting the scammers and certainly there are others. More information is available at https://www.fcc.gov/grandparent-scams-get-more-sophisticated
