Semi Regular Retirees Game 08/08/24 Iwo Jima

Pat Lewis brought up his latest 3D enlarged board game for our Semi Regular Retirees Game at Miniature Market Cave Springs and it was a delight to behold!

Steve L & David H took command of the Imperial Forces while Greg D, Mark J and Kurt L directed the USMC in the quest to wrestle the island away from it’s defenders as the Americans marched across the Pacific in World War II.

The players ponder their plans.

The Imperial forces used a hidden deployment system on a separate map that Pat had created allowing them to keep track of where things were and not clue the Marines into anything too early.

Here we see the Chidori Airfield marked as cleared for landings with American controlled areas marked to each side.

A view of the map later in the game with some intense fighting going on.

A look at the American landing beaches.

Another look at the airfield and beachhead.

Overall a great presentation from Pat that resulted in a great afternoon of gaming at our Semi Regular Retirees Game. The Imperial Forces came out on top as the clock ran out, but everyone had a super time working through the problems and potential problems that the field commanders faced during the battle.

Thanks to Pat, the players and to the Staff at Miniature Market Cave Springs for their support.
